Oil is like so played out, agriculture is back baby. So I’m a bit delusional, but on a serious note, Nigeria needs to start paying more attention to her agricultural sector. Cocoa is a huge part of that sector, as it stands we are currently the fourth largest producer of cocoa in the world. We should be producing and exporting more cocoa but the cocoa supply chain in Nigeria seems to be facing some challenges.
The first three links show some of the problems affecting cocoa exporters and farmers. Fishing is also a big part of the agricultural sector and the fourth link shows how much we as a country depend on it. The last link deals with some of the issues facing Zain.
Farmers are ready to work with the Federal government Golden Cocoa.
