GOODBYE OMALICHA
Goodbye, Omalicha
And without anger
I, myself, am not upset
Goodbye as you sojourn
Without much ado
Goodbye provided you are safe
May he protect you
He who gives and takes life
IFY’S UGLY JOURNEY
I heard you’re dead.
It was not a dream,
As I tried hard to fight
This reality I see
Is it true you’re dead?
Only God knows why
We travelers never return
From our journey afar
That fine place made for us
Oh, do not mind the ugly journey
Do not mind the ugly road
Think only of your new home
Where souls are kept for eternity
Leaving behind their ugly journey
DEATH LIKE A DISEASE
Death comes like
A dreaded disease
Piercing through the pores
Of a healthy body
And damaging it without pity
I tremor at his crunching footsteps
I shake at his unending knock at the door
“Come out” he roars like a hungry lion
Thirsty for my wine.
Death! Death!
You are no friend of mine
So why look for me?
Why can’t i be?
Be forever?
RECITE MY POEM
People thought death stole you
But you know they lie
People thought you won’t come back
But here you are
Beautiful and healthy
People thought am mad
But am not
Because I see you
As you recite my poem
YOUR TOUCH SO POSITIVE, YOUR POEM SO CREATIVE, YOUR DANCE SO WONDERFUL, YOUR SMILE SO NICE, YOUR BEAUTY RADIATES INSIDE AND OUT BUT YOUR DEATH… YOUR DEATH SO… SO PATHETIC!
OMA, WE LOVE YOU BUT GOD LOVES YOU MOST
