Anengiyefa Alagoa

Born in Lagos, Nigeria in the 1960s, Anengiyefa graduated from the University of Lagos and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar sometime in the 1980s. He practised law in Nigeria for a considerable period of time but then relocated to the UK in the mid 1990s. He obtained a LL.M from the University of London and re-qualified as a solicitor. He gained admission to the Roll of Solicitors of England and Wales in 2002. He is currently in full-time private law practice and lives and works in London.

As a keen observer of the world around him, his interests are widely varied. Human rights and the alleviation of poverty are the two areas about which he is most passionate. He loves sport too but finds that nowadays he fails to find the energy to ride his bicycle as frequently as he used to do. He enjoys gardening, although he has discovered (the hard way) that looking after a garden in the tropical climate of Nigeria is a lot less demanding and yet more pleasing than it is in the cool temperate climate of England. Anengiyefa blogs at Things I feel strongly about.
